The role of youth in promoting "unity in diversity" through education, migration and media

I believe that there will be no development in the future if the youth is left behind. The role of youth in promoting "unity in diversity" through education, migration and media is must be taken seriously as it gives the society many significant contributions. I would like to explain this more detail with learning from the existing initiatives of young Indonesians.

The first point is the role of youth in education. Indonesia experiences the growing of intolerance in the society because of lacking unity in diversity. How the youth can help is by educating and raising the awareness of tolerance to the youth as they are the agent of change. Sabang Merauke, for example, is a social movement in the form of student exchange programs in national scale that emphasize the values of tolerance and education. This is an impactful platform as I believe that education is the key of holistic development.

In the terms of migration, youth can be an initiator. There is the inequities development in Indonesia, especially in the remote islands. However, with the spirit of volunteerism, youth can help to develop the society in particular remote area by migrating to provide service that they need most, which in this case is education. Indonesia Mengajar, for instance, they recruit the best young generation of Indonesia, to devote a year of his youth to teach in a primary school in a remote village and undeveloped region of Indonesia.

With the function of media, youths can expand their action as well. It is difficult to make social change individually. However, with the help of media, whether it is social media, mediated-environment or other media, this work would be easier for youth by collaborating in partnership to create social innovation network. Kreanovator, for example, is a social innovation platform for governments, corporations, and civil society (the experts and youth) who collaborate to create positive social change.

"the value of unity in diversity is transmitted when there is the spirit of helping others, no matter who we are."

The Ripple Effect #1

The Ripple Effect -One small change, can create a bigger wave and have an enormous impact even more-.

The Ripple effect.

That's it from me for today. (^^^)

Social Activities Documentary

A little piece of myself: I am 19 year old, proudly muslim Indonesian, my name is Muhamad Fatih Azka, call me whatever you want as long as it is my name. Secondly I am a higly motivated man which success at young age, become the light for people arround me are my targets, reaching full potential in my life is my driving force. However, my weakness is, I am not really good at arranging sentence into speaking when I am delivering a speech -__-. So, I would like to improve my public speaking ability at any given chances. This would help me in both my personal and professional life by being able to communicate my ideas more clearly

Therefore, I always push my self harder from time to time, not to pursue such a pragmatism or even recognition, but rather a challenge for myself if I could do better than I was before. I have been staying here in Kuala Lumpur for approximately 7 months, as a freshman at IIUM majoring Political Science. both KL and IIUM particulary have given me a lot of experiences, memories, adventures, great friends from various precious events that I involved in. I remember before I took decision to continue my study in Malaysia, I promise to myself that I will take everything from here as much as I can.

so far, I'm actively participating at several youth event organizers such as TEDxYouth@KL, Indonesian Student Association-IIUM, while still leading my own non-profit social enterprise- Yodefo which gives me a dilemma because of some reason I can't tell you, and also another voluntary works. I'm going to describe it more elaborate in order to give you interpretation in case you are still looking for any references in regarding Youth Issues, Social Enterpreneurship, Education, or whatever...

Firstly, I would describe briefly on

Yodefo

Location: Tawabi Islands,
South Halmahera,North Moluccas, Indonesia.
Youth Events targeted to motivating, and empowering local young generation in order to having high self-estem in themselves and be better individuals which can be beneficial for their surrounding, and also we have been in striving to eradicate illiteration by providing the local citizen a community library which aimed to be a learning center for them to gain knowledge and have fun. Successfully organized on 12-20th January 2014.

Another thing, I also conducted several youth events In Pemalang City, Central Java which conducted by This organization that I lead and co-founded. But this particular event that we orginzed in Tawabi was the most memorable time for me personally.

Secondly, the very youth event,

TEDxYouth@KL

Location: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Organizing TEDx Youth @ Kuala Lumpur a conference that focuses on Innovation Talks from 12 international inspiring innovators and speakers, the event was designed to empower and inspire young people. TEDxYouth is an annual series of TEDx events happening all around the world on or around November 20 - Universal Children's Day.

Dreamed up by a group of TEDx organizers where I am as the campus ambassador and also marketing division member which is stated as the mastermind behind the ingenious marketing strategy that will gain TEDxYouth@KL maximum exposure which largely determines the success of our event. Successfully conducted on 16th November 2013, and became the South East Asia biggest TEDxYouth Conference with the total participants reached 800 people. here, I know that branding is more powerful than people think it is actually.

And then,

Indonesian Student Association-IIUM

Location: Gombak, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Indonesian Student Association is a group consist of Indonesian students who are studying at International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) which committed to providing platforms in order to enhance Indonesian students academically and supporting solidarity among the students, and another nationality as well. I am currently working at Education and Islamic Revealed Division,

which one of our program is Indonesian Language Class for non-Indonesian, which is a program for the foreigners to be able to learn Indonesian Language and the culture as well. This program has being started from beginning of the semester on February 2014 until April 2014. The class consist of diversity students, they are from Saudi Arabia, Bangladesh, India, Thailand, Sudan, UK, Afghanistan, Chad, Palestine, and Yaman.

One more thing that I would inform in this blog,

SCOPE GROUP @Pi2 Forum 2014

Muslim Ummah International Convention

Alhamdulillah arrived in Gombak. I want to share to you a little bit about what I learnt from Muslim Ummah International Convention yesterday that conducted by IIUM Kuantan Open Day 2013.  28 November till 1 December 2014

We discussed about the role of women in modern muslim world, The sectarian Conflicts, The arab spring-and the diplomacy of muslim country that related to 57 OIC countries (organization of Islamic Co-operation), how are you OIC now? what is your contribution to the ummah except IIUM and IDB (Islamic Development Bank), and lead us to talk about the Khilafah governmental system whether it is relevant and possible to apply in current era or not, which is according to our humble conclusion it is really hard to apply the khilafah in this modern era because we have to consider many complicated things such as  the problems that each of muslim countries are facing, and when Brother Yaqinul Haq gave his point of view that make me could not stop nodded many times , brother yaqinul Haq told us "many people who want to establish even do not know about the definition of Khilafah itself, and the most important thing, that we have to start a change from our heart, from ourselves before talking about changing the world". thats the point.

Not only that, Most of you know what is happening in Palestine, Syria, Rohingya, but only a few know about the bloodshed that is hidden behind the beautiful Kashmir, and no one even bring the news to the public until brother Muh. Fayzal from Kashmir, third year communication student at IIUM told us the truth in last minutes at the end of the convention. it was really sad ending, many of the delegates could not hide their tears.

so, what I got from the story that faysal told me in during the convention was about the struggle of Kashmir in regards their independent land on India administration territory. in other words, India assume that the are of Jammu and Kashmir are their territory based on past history, but if we look back carefully they are not indian territory, Kashmir is Kashmir, the muslim majority nation between pakistan, india and china.

everyday there is a new story of murders, the men go to take demonstration to take their rights because their community is pressured by Indian polices, the women are gangraped, the children are tortured, the men are killed... everyday there is a new story. if I compiling all information about the problems that muslim world are facing is like.... the real nightmare that Rasulullah has showed us in his risalah.
wallahu a'lam..
Kashmir: were divided into 4 area

P.S: I hope you do not misunderstand what I'm talking about, only because of my bad english :D, I tried my best though. there are a lot of stuffs going on in my head now, I really want to write all the things I experienced from the convention because it really inspired me and i want you also be inspired, but maybe I'll be continouing later. I should find other references about this issue though. to avoid ignorance that can kill people.

New Definition of Change: Social Enterprise for Ternate and Pemalang

saatnya mengubah!

bhaha dramatis banget neh prolognya :D

- indifference from the big player like supermarkets.
- a lack of public awareness about the rule of social enterprise
- the difficulty of gaining trust from stakeholders and costumers

dan kita menanggapi point yang kedua. "the more coverage we get, the more coverage the concept of social enterprise get. the more the people will be aware of our presence" sambung si Jenny.

yaitu:

1. what exactly is social enterprise?
2. what kind of social enterprise already exists?
3. how many step if we eager to build such as sustainable social enterprise?

what's your future plan?

No more than six months my turn for attending Graduation Ceremony as a student from Mu'allimin Muhammadiyah Boarding School will be my last event. last meeting with all of my younger brother, good teacher, and the whole memories along past six years ago. but this is not my last journey. on the contrary, this is the moment that all of knowledges, experiences, sciences, sacriface will be asked by family, friends, and my community in my homeland Pemalang City. I have to develop and apply all of those thing that I've earned from this old school.

In these few weeks, I have seen unpredictable and unexpected occasions happen to the people around my surrounding, including myself. Starting from myself, I experienced a difficult situation that makes me discover myself better than before. during the final examination not only science lessons that I worry about it, but also many question showed up in my mind again and so on. after so many thing I couldn't stop those questions disturbing my focus on examination. Who am I? , What I have suppose to do after graduation?, can I make a  postive change in my local community? why? how? and I remember Rhenald Kasali, honorable lecturer in Faculty of Economic and Business University of Indonesia says that Youth is Innovation source, every change in a nation is on their hand. and I agree with that. I think when young call young to action spreaded like mushroom's seed it will be a great companion which is very good circumstance to make an innovation.

going further,
I and my friends in Pemalang made an organization that we established it on 28th October 2012 . we call it YoDeFo abbreviation from Youth Developer Forum. our purpose is to support Young Pemalang to make a betterment in their local community.

Therefore my future plan after graduation I and my partners in yodefo will run our programs that we were planning, organizing, and actuating. this is our effort to help our unfortunate friends that can't afford go to school because poverty and the other reason. I couldn't completely participate to make legalize our organization because i still stuck here at my last academic year trying to get understand six subjects that will be examined in National Examination. so, make this forum bigger, better and bolder is one of my future plans after graduation.

while i'm focusing on my study I also focusing in another subject, my passion and my build my future. I asked to my friend, how long our holiday after graduation they said it's about 3 months. okay that's enough to Learning English, Math and SAT as requirement to convince my opportunity become student in Hult University.

I'm really obsessed with all of the highest buildings in the world, such as Burj Khalifa in Dubai, Bank of China in Shanghai, Empire state building in New York, Petronas Twin Tower Kuala Lumpur and also Taipe 101 in Taiwan. my passion to observe the architecture the size of those tallest buildings starts when I escorted my sister got her next study in Bachelor degree in Psicology from International Islamic University of Malaysia on September 2011. I always relate the highest construction in a big city with it's economic developer. look forward to Shanghai skyline, their economic's growing faster because so many proffesional business man build and invest their money in Shanghai. it makes me admire to pursue my next study in Bachelor of Business Administration in Hult University Dubai. Why Dubai? because Dubai is a magnificent landmark city from anxient district turning into a place for great battle of massive property developers such as Emaar, Nakheel corporation, Dubai World and manymore.

futrher more, after I finish my bachelor I will make an investment company in Dubai. make a Social Business for Pemalang and Ternate citizen develop them to be the global community, and empower youth to make betterment in their local district, etc. and keep my dreams to be a motivator and young changemaker in my surrounding
Sometimes, the pleasure of getting what you want in life is not the same as you have predicted before. I will relate this statement with the premise that I read in Stephen Covey Book titled Discover the 90/10 Principle.

10% of life is made up of what happens to you. We really have no control over 10% of what happens to us. Yet the other 90% is different. You determine the other 90%. 90% of life is decided by how you react.”

Conlusion, I explained my three short-term and long-term future plans above. there are:
1. Participate build our YoDeFo organization became youth companion to bring positive change in our local community and inspire others.
2. Take some courses English-TOEFL or IELTS preparation, SAT to pursue my next study in Hult University Dubai.
3. After I finish my bachelor I will make an investment company in Dubai. make a Social Business for Pemalang and Ternate citizen develop them to be the global community, and empower youth to make betterment in their local district, etc. and keep my dreams to be a motivator and young changemaker in my surrounding.
